A Day At The Park
This was one of our first family outings as a family of four. The baby, though you can't see her (or me) is snug in the Baby Bjorn on me. We had a great day - the weather was perfect and after we played for a while, we walked to the Water Resources Center and had a great afternoon playing and learning.

A Page For A Friend
Sometimes it's just more fun to make a page for someone else rather than to make one of the pages that I *should* be doing. So.....if you have a picture of your little one (or dog, cat, frog, etc) that you would love me to do a page of - send it to me at casey784@comcast.net and I will create something for you.

A Very Special Mega Kit
If you are already in the digital scrapbooking world and/or are thinking about jumping in, this is a kit you MUST have. It's not the kit itself, it's what purchasing this kit will do for children.
The following info has been taken directly from Dani Mogstad's digi-store
*snip*
I have had the privlege of working with some amazing and generous women on this very special kit: Anita Stergiou, Theresa Hernandez, and Kim Hill.
All the proceeds from this kit go to a wonderful cause, to support a foundation called Alex's Lemonade Stand (www.alexslemonade.org), to help fight Childhood Cancer.
** AS A PROMOTIONAL SPECIAL: Each Person to Purchase this Kit will Recieve a $5.00 Gift Card. For ONE WEEK only, 1-17 throguh 1-22-06. **
From Theresa:
"Three years ago, a beautiful little boy entered this world and changed lives forever. He was taken from those who loved him far too soon, after spending only 16 short months on this Earth. And in those 16 months, he touched more lives than many people do in much longer lifetimes. Enzo was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just ten months old. He spent the rest of his life in the Hem/Oc ward of Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He spent his first Thanksgiving there, his first Christmas, his first birthday, learned to walk and talk, and tragically, he took his last breath there on May 21, 2004.
In a tribute to the joy he brought those who knew him, in collaboration with designers Anita Stergiou, Kim Hill and Dani Mogstad, the Eternal Hope kit was created. I’m so happy with how this turned out and honored to work with these talented women on something that means so much to me. One hundred percent of gross sales will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help fight childhood cancers.
Alexandra Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma two days before her first birthday. She fought long and hard, and during that fight, decided to sell lemonade and donate the proceeds to childhood cancer research. She managed to raise over $900,000 before her death in August of 2004; just a few months after Enzo passed. I cannot think of a more fitting charity to donate these proceeds to. I hope you’ll join us in doing what we can to help make Alex’s dream come true by fighting childhood cancer one cup (or kit) at a time.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of that beautiful boy with the engaging smile and the most stunningly beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen. I mourn his passing and ache for his parents’ loss. And I feel blessed to have known him, even for a short time, for I shall never be the same again for having known him. I shall never take for granted my children or their health; I shall never again complain about sleepless nights or the woes of toilet training. Life is precious and wonderful and should be lived in the moment and embraced for it’s beauty while we can."

The kit is only $8.99 which I realize seems like a lot when you are talking digi-kits BUT...this mega kit has FOUR complete kits in it AND you will receive a $5.00 gift certificate to Dani's store for a future purchase if you buy the mega kit this week. So really...if you think about it, you can't afford *not* to do it. And think of the children and the parents of those children. No one should get cancer - but it seems especially cruel when it's a child. As a mother, I can't imagine the pain and grief of losing your baby....and I never want to experience it.

I snapped this photo of my sleeping beauty this morning and couldn't wait to scrap it. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, like a sleeping baby!

A Year In The Life
525,600 minutes.....yep - that's how old my baby girl will be in 30 days. A whole year. How is that even possible?
For her birthday I am creating a scrapbook to commemorate her first year of life. I made one for my son (though, admittedly, I didn't finish months 11 and 12) and I love looking back over his album and "watching" him grow and change with every turn of the page.
Here are the first two sets of pages I have created in the past 24 hours. Enjoy!

There you were - wearing my sunglasses, using a binky and holding baby (your blanket). This photo makes a clear statement of what defines you right now - still so young and yet wanting to be older.

Want To Jump On My Band Wagon?
Are you thinking to yourself "Hey! That looks kind of fun. I wonder how I can try it out without going to any expense." Funny you should ask! I am going to list a few of my favorite places that give away GREAT free digi-kits. These kits have everything you could need or want to put together a great page...or two...or ten. Once you get your feet wet (and yourself properly addicted), there are stores attached to the free-links from where you can purchase MORE kits. Kits aren't a huge expense either...they typically run $3.50-$7 and yes, the stores do hold SALES!! :)
Some of the sites require that you register in order to access their amazing freebies. It's quick and painless - I've registered at all these sites and I have not been spammed by any of them.
I'm telling you - this is an amazingly fun hobby! Give it a try. What do you have to lose? :)
