A Very Special Mega Kit

If you are already in the digital scrapbooking world and/or are thinking about jumping in, this is a kit you MUST have. It's not the kit itself, it's what purchasing this kit will do for children.

The following info has been taken directly from Dani Mogstad's digi-store

I have had the privlege of working with some amazing and generous women on this very special kit: Anita Stergiou, Theresa Hernandez, and Kim Hill.

All the proceeds from this kit go to a wonderful cause, to support a foundation called Alex's Lemonade Stand (www.alexslemonade.org), to help fight Childhood Cancer.

** AS A PROMOTIONAL SPECIAL: Each Person to Purchase this Kit will Recieve a $5.00 Gift Card. For ONE WEEK only, 1-17 throguh 1-22-06. **
From Theresa:

"Three years ago, a beautiful little boy entered this world and changed lives forever. He was taken from those who loved him far too soon, after spending only 16 short months on this Earth. And in those 16 months, he touched more lives than many people do in much longer lifetimes. Enzo was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just ten months old. He spent the rest of his life in the Hem/Oc ward of Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He spent his first Thanksgiving there, his first Christmas, his first birthday, learned to walk and talk, and tragically, he took his last breath there on May 21, 2004.

In a tribute to the joy he brought those who knew him, in collaboration with designers Anita Stergiou, Kim Hill and Dani Mogstad, the Eternal Hope kit was created. I’m so happy with how this turned out and honored to work with these talented women on something that means so much to me. One hundred percent of gross sales will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help fight childhood cancers.

Alexandra Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma two days before her first birthday. She fought long and hard, and during that fight, decided to sell lemonade and donate the proceeds to childhood cancer research. She managed to raise over $900,000 before her death in August of 2004; just a few months after Enzo passed. I cannot think of a more fitting charity to donate these proceeds to. I hope you’ll join us in doing what we can to help make Alex’s dream come true by fighting childhood cancer one cup (or kit) at a time.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of that beautiful boy with the engaging smile and the most stunningly beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen. I mourn his passing and ache for his parents’ loss. And I feel blessed to have known him, even for a short time, for I shall never be the same again for having known him. I shall never take for granted my children or their health; I shall never again complain about sleepless nights or the woes of toilet training. Life is precious and wonderful and should be lived in the moment and embraced for it’s beauty while we can."

The kit is only $8.99 which I realize seems like a lot when you are talking digi-kits BUT...this mega kit has FOUR complete kits in it AND you will receive a $5.00 gift certificate to Dani's store for a future purchase if you buy the mega kit this week. So really...if you think about it, you can't afford *not* to do it. And think of the children and the parents of those children. No one should get cancer - but it seems especially cruel when it's a child. As a mother, I can't imagine the pain and grief of losing your baby....and I never want to experience it.

Hey...

Explain to me what digital scrapbooking is vs. regular scrapbooking?

Your pages look great and I can't wait to start doing Sam's book.
I have a bunch of papers and stuff to do it...just haven't had the time to get started.

Jill,
Thanks for asking. Digital scrapbooking is all done on the computer. Paper and other elements are downloaded from on-line digital scrapping stores (there are TONS of free stuff out there and/or you can purchase kits for very little money). You put your page together in a graphics program, such as Photo Shop or Photo Shop Elements, import your digital photo from your file/camera and print.

No mess, no fuss. You can move things around as much as you like with digital (as opposed to regular paper/glue/scissor method). It's really easy and I find it so less frustrating than the hands on/non-digital scrapping.

With regular scrapbooking, you need to go out to a store and pick up things. You can only use the items once and then they are gone. With digital you can reuse things because they are PNG files and you are just copying them into your layouts. So truly, economically, you can't go wrong.

Does this address your question? If not, let me know and I'll take another stab at it. :)
