Autumn Rain

credit: Ribbit by Tania Cordova

Journaling reads:
The first rain of the season should not be wasted! We all bundled up into our rain jackets and boots and headed out to enjoy the water falling from the sky. You, my sweet girl, weren’t too sure at first but by the time we went back indoors you were a pro at running through the wet grass and playing in the rain. We had such a great time watching you experience it all.

First Day of Preschool

Journaling reads:
You were so excited to be heading out for your first day. Your excitement quickly turned to all out fear when you realized that I really wouldn’t be staying in the room with you, despite the fact that I had been prepping you for that reality for weeks.

We compromised. I stayed for a while and then I left - sitting directly outside the door where you could see me when you looked out the window. At the end of class you greeted me with shy smile and said: "I hated it." When I asked if you really hated it, you said "Noooooo." and gave me your world famous smile.

Look at You!

credit: Signature Collection by Jessica Bolton

Journaling reads:
Our running joke is that you, at 19 months, think you are 4 years old. There is nothing you don’t think
you can do - including riding your brother’s bike. You hoist yourself up on the seat, put your tiny feet on the cross bar and yell “GO!” which means you want someone to push you around.

So we do.
And you smile and laugh the whole time. You are an amazing little girl and we are so lucky to have you in our lives.

Seize the Day

Carpe Diem kit by Shawna Clingerman and Dani Mogstadt

Journaling reads:
Today was the day. You turned to me and said “I’m going to climb on the roof.” Not quite believing you I said “Ok - if you think you can.” And sure enough, you managed to get yoruself up there without too much of a struggle. Getting down, however, was another story. I helped you get down and once you had your courage back, up you went again. And again, I helped you down. It won’t be long before you will be able to go both directions on your own. You, my amazing son, certainly know how to seize the day!
