At the end of class you greeted me with shy smile and said: "I hated it." When I asked if you really hated it, you said "Noooooo." and gave me your world famous smile.

You stood in awe - just staring. You had spotted Tigger and you just had to get closer. Waiting in line to see him was so hard for you to do but you did it - only sneaking out to get a closer look a few times. You were beside yourself with joy. As a special bonus, the line to meet Tigger also included a chance to meet Pooh and Eeyore and to get their autographs in your special book. You eagerly passed them your book and pen and then posed for photos.

You were in heaven and completely swept away by the magic. And as we watched you, we were swept away, too. There is nothing like watching your child experience Disneyland for the very first time. It was so much fun and we all made memories that will last a lifetime!

I know, I know.....but life has gotten very busy lately and even though I *want* to work on pages, there just doesn't seem to be enough time. I cranked on out this afternoon while the kiddo's napped (yes, I napped K but on;y because he really seemed to need one today. Normally he is up while Baby K sleeps which makes it extremely difficult to scrap. *sigh* Such is the life of a SAHM.

I'm having so much trouble finding time to scrap these days. The kids are keeping me busy from before sun-up to long after sun-down. I'm hopeful that once D is through with school, and back home in the evenings this summer, I'll have more time to work on pages. Of course, then there will be long summer evenings in the yard with the kids so who knows how it all will pan out. I'll just keep doing the best I can. :)

I can usually create a page in less than an hour but this one took me close to two and a half. And from the looks of the simple layout, I know that probably surprises you. It surprises me! I have to admit, the intimate photos are so much more difficult for me to work with. I think it's because I am afraid of not doing them justice. This photo, Kelton's hands in mine, is one of those once in a lifetime pictures. His hands are growing and changing so quickly - no longer a baby or even a toddler and in a few years down the road, I know they will have changed so much that I may not even recognize how they used to be which is why this photo is so special - and so emotionally charged for me.

So - even though the page design is simple, the work that is behind it is anything but. I hope you like it.

Wow. I actually completed a page. I'm amazed. It's been a long four days with both kidlets sick and very little sleep to be had but yesterday a friend sent a gift certificate to one of my favorite digi stores and I just *had* to go shopping. I bought so many fun new things and even branched out and bought some "brushes" which is a technique I've never before used. BIG FUN!! I had a blast learning how to import the brushes and use them...I see hours of fun in my future now that I can change their color, shape and size. :)

I know this page is rather simple but I think it really lets the photograph shine. My baby - she sure is growing quickly!

Thanks for asking. I obtain the kits from various places. Some are free, some I've paid for. The Rough and Tumble kit I used (below) I received for free when I attending a chat via ScrapArtist.com. The pages "Dreams" and "So New" were also made from free kits. "The Crazy Family" and A "Mother's Love" were kits I bought. The same is true for "Sweet Love".

The Sweet Shoppe is selling a collection of eight kits for an amazing price of $2.49. I would really encourage purchasing this set in you want to get your feet wet without sinking a lot of money into it.

I made this page from a kit called Rough and Tumble from ScrapArtist.com. The kit was given away at a chat I attended last night and then we were asked to use the kit and post the finished on the sites gallery. I actually completed this page in 20 minutes and had a good time doing it.

I really love have this page turned out - it's busy, yes, but I think it captures how much exploring there is to do when you are three.

This was one of our first family outings as a family of four. The baby, though you can't see her (or me) is snug in the Baby Bjorn on me. We had a great day - the weather was perfect and after we played for a while, we walked to the Water Resources Center and had a great afternoon playing and learning.

"Three years ago, a beautiful little boy entered this world and changed lives forever. He was taken from those who loved him far too soon, after spending only 16 short months on this Earth. And in those 16 months, he touched more lives than many people do in much longer lifetimes. Enzo was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just ten months old. He spent the rest of his life in the Hem/Oc ward of Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He spent his first Thanksgiving there, his first Christmas, his first birthday, learned to walk and talk, and tragically, he took his last breath there on May 21, 2004.

A Year In The Life

525,600 minutes.....yep - that's how old my baby girl will be in 30 days. A whole year. How is that even possible?

For her birthday I am creating a scrapbook to commemorate her first year of life. I made one for my son (though, admittedly, I didn't finish months 11 and 12) and I love looking back over his album and "watching" him grow and change with every turn of the page.

I am going to list a few of my favorite places that give away GREAT free digi-kits. These kits have everything you could need or want to put together a great page...or two...or ten. Once you get your feet wet (and yourself properly addicted), there are stores attached to the free-links from where you can purchase MORE kits. Kits aren't a huge expense either...they typically run $3.50-$7 and yes, the stores do hold SALES!! :)

Some of the sites require that you register in order to access their amazing freebies. It's quick and painless - I've registered at all these sites and I have not been spammed by any of them.

I'm telling you - this is an amazingly fun hobby! Give it a try. What do you have to lose? :)
